Documentary Subjects
1. Char Swoveland - I think Char would make an interesting subject because she is co-owner of Junk Evolution, which happens to be one of my favorite stores. I would love to see how she goes about finding new items for the store, how she fixes them up, and how she is running a very sustainable business.
2. Krista Bailey- I worked with Krista briefly over the summer as an intern for the Center for a Sustainable future here at IUSB. I got to see how much she does not just for IUSB but the community as the whole. I love that she actually practices what she preaches and would love to see a documentary on what all she does at school, for the community, and at her own home that makes her a "titan for sustainability".
3. Andrew Elegante- I am currently working with Drew to create a Zero Waste venue at the State Theatre in downtown South Bend. I love that he is taking an old piece of history and bringing it back to the 21st century. The State has been hosting a lot of shows and events recently so we are coming up with a plan on how to make these events Zero Waste. I think it would be interesting to see the process of turning an old venue into something Zero Waste and also what all he is doing not only at the State but in the community as well.

Excellent subjects. I love how each of them has a community focus. I know Krista and she is a powerhouse. "Titan for Sustainability" would make a great title too.
ReplyDeleteI think that your doc. subjects are really very unique! I think that they are all relating to important issues locally. Very cool ideas :D
ReplyDeleteGood job on all your ideas! I was actually thinking the same thing about how interesting it would be to do one on the state theatre and the re-renovation of it.
