Balloon Treatment
Balloon
-Treatment
(Black and White)
We open on a girl sitting on a park bench looking sad. We
pan over to see a playground with children playing. We then see a close up of
the girls face.
We see a balloon floating near the ground coming towards the
girl. It stops in front of her and she gets up with excitement in her eyes and
grabs it.
(Color)
The girl runs to the playground with the balloon in hand.
They slide, swing, and run around together.
Cut to different shots of the girl and the balloon doing these
activities.
The viewer gets a sense that these two (girl and balloon)
are best friends and are inseparable. We then understand that she was sad
because she didn’t have anyone to play with and was feeling left out.
It starts to get dark out and we see the girl and the
balloon sitting on the ground together. The girl gives the balloon a hug,
squeezing just a little too tight, and the balloon pops.
(Black and White)
The girl is heartbroken and starts to cry. We see a wide shot of her sitting on the
ground crying and it fades to black.

Documentary Subjects
1. Char Swoveland - I think Char would make an interesting subject because she is co-owner of Junk Evolution, which happens to be one of my favorite stores. I would love to see how she goes about finding new items for the store, how she fixes them up, and how she is running a very sustainable business.
2. Krista Bailey- I worked with Krista briefly over the summer as an intern for the Center for a Sustainable future here at IUSB. I got to see how much she does not just for IUSB but the community as the whole. I love that she actually practices what she preaches and would love to see a documentary on what all she does at school, for the community, and at her own home that makes her a "titan for sustainability".
3. Andrew Elegante- I am currently working with Drew to create a Zero Waste venue at the State Theatre in downtown South Bend. I love that he is taking an old piece of history and bringing it back to the 21st century. The State has been hosting a lot of shows and events recently so we are coming up with a plan on how to make these events Zero Waste. I think it would be interesting to see the process of turning an old venue into something Zero Waste and also what all he is doing not only at the State but in the community as well.

SJRMC Production Photo
In this photo you can see different cameras getting ready for the next scene. One is setting up the frame, and Katie and I are practicing our dolly moves with the wheelchair. In the background the talent is meeting and rehearsing for the scene.

Happy
I'll be honest, I forgot about this assignment until today so my pictures were rushed and not a lot of thought put into them. Because of this- I changed up the assignment a bit (I hope you don't mind). Since I couldn't spend a lot of time creating an emotion...I took pictures of what made me feel a certain emotion. That emotion being happy, since my daughter was my only model and she, of course, makes me happy. So here are 10 (rough) pictures of what made me happy today.
Lunch dates make me happy
Strawberry milkshakes make me happy.
Trampolines with my baby make me happy.
Swingsets make me happy.
Smiles make happy.
Hammocks make me happy.
Late night painting makes me happy.
Nice days make me happy.
My goofy child makes me happy.
A sleeping child makes me happy.
